Denver Academy of Ballet has a fully leveled program for dancers of all ages. We offer ballet classes starting with a Tiny Tots in Tutus class from age 3 up to classes for Beginner or Intermediate Adults. For dancers interested in other forms of the art we offer various Tap, Jazz, and Modernnclasses as well as a Musical Theater class.
Pre-Ballet, Tiny Tots in Tutus & Creative Dance and Movement (ages 3-6)
The early ballet education program is divided into three categories to introduce the language and style of ballet. These weekly classes are designed to introduce the language and style of ballet. The joy of discovering all the wonderful moves and expressions of the body at this early age teaches and inspires the young dancer to learn more every day. It also prepares children for the more technical dance levels, as well as nurtures the learning of life and physical growth through music, art and movement.
Ballet/Tap (ages 3-5)
A great introduction to dance for both girls and boys. Tap teaches rhythm, coordination and musicality. Ballet prepares children for the more technical dance levels, as well as nurtures the learning of life and physical growth.
Ballet/Jazz (ages 3-5)
A great introduction to dance for both girls and boys. Jazz helps students gain confidence while increasing flexibility and coordination. Ballet prepares children for the more technical dance levels, as well as nurtures the learning of life and physical growth.
Boys Ballet I & II (ages 6-12)
These classes are taught by Rob Kuykendall, award winning instructor for men of all ages. The boys learn ballet, the foundation of all dance forms, in a boys only atmosphere.
Ballet Levels I-VIII (ages 6-18)
Students learn through a series of levels in Classical Ballet during 60 to 90 minute classes. In addition to the highest level of classical ballet training, the students will also learn stretching, strengthening, injury prevention, pointe work, variations, partnering and proper diet in these classes.
Company & Jr. Company (ages 10 & older)
Company is a unique opportunity for young dancers to hone their skills in ballet technique and pointe, with a focus on performing. These dancers receive extra variations training, contemporary choreography training, strength and conditioning classes, performance opportunities and much much more! It is available to most dancers level IV and up depending on space availability. Please call or email the studio if you are interested in this class.
Adult/Teen Ballet (ages 13 & older)
You will meet new friends, fulfill your passion for dance and get in the greatest shape of your life.
Jazz (ages 8 & older)
Using the principals of dance learned in their ballet classes, students will explore a diverse syllabus of technical jazz dance. Jazz helps students gain confidence as they learn to move and strengthen their bodies with classic jazz movements. The emphasis is on increasing flexibility and coordination while learning age appropriate stylization.
Lyrical (ages 10 & older)
Expressive class for students who like to move in a creative and musical way. The movement style is a combination of ballet technique mixed with modern and contemporary.
Modern (ages 13-18)
Using the principals of dance learned in their ballet classes, students will explore a diverse syllabus of modern technique. Modern helps students gain confidence as they learn to move and strengthen their bodies and develop a stronger core.
